SR5: Sortimo's van racking solution for maximum productivity

Sortimo International contributes the first van racking solution to the market that has been conceived for a digital environment with SR5, the fifth generation Sortimo shelf system. The SR5 can be configured, directly ordered, administrated and adapted at any time via the mySortimo online configurator. Alongside the simplified purchase, productivity will also be intensively optimised through the SR5. The shelf system enables perfect working space organisation even in the tightest spaces and creates a highly efficient working environment for craftsmen and service technicians through one hundred per cent individual possibilities of going beyond the boundaries of any system with maximum loading space exploitation as well as fully comprehensive integration of tools, machines and consumables, all thanks to the Sortimo EcoSystem.

Newly developed from scratch: digital and with maximum loading space utilisation

SR5 is a shelving system which has been conceived and designed from scratch for a digital environment and which far exceeds existing requirements regarding loading space exploitation, security, quality and optimum working place organisation. This means that each individual component contributes to the most flexible shelf system possible, which is easy to configure but yet boasts maximum benefits at minimal assembly time.

SR5 is built up in a way completely different from all previous van racking systems. Fixing the shelf system in place is carried out via the new aluminium side profiles and the embedded ProSafe lashing points in the SoboPro floor. This means the SR5 can be installed directly into the vehicle in the shortest time possible. Moreover the customer benefits from significantly more space in the interior of their LCV, everyday, because the fixation of the compact and robust aluminium side profiles via the ProSafe points in the SoboPro floor is markedly more space saving than all previous designs, and that with the same stability and safety. Even bulky transport goods, like a euro pallet for example, can be conveyed in the smallest of LCVs without a problem.

A further optimisation for the maximum exploitation of the loading space comes from the perfect adaptation of the shelf system to the contours of the vehicle. Putting it simply, the customer can now position the standard shelves in accordance with the contours of their LCV. The aluminium side profile makes that possible, as the fastening of the shelf is variable both to the front, back and in height. Depending on position you create the maximum of room for your loaded goods.

A further space saving effect is contributed by the standard shelves, which are available in different versions and can be equipped with SR-BOXXes. The SR-BOXXes are absolutely unique on the van racking solutions market. To ensure optimal space usage in the SR5 shelf, the BOXXes can be integrated both above and below the shelves of the SR5 van racking solution, using plastic slides, whereby the amount of SR5 BOXXes that can be used is doubled. The stable and light plastic boxes provide sufficient stowage possibilities for the transport of small parts and consumable materials and are thereby the optimum aid for organisation in the vehicle. The optional transparent and split lid enables immediate overviews of content and allows quick access without having to take the box completely out of the van racking solution. The plastic slides allow the BOXXes to be simply pulled out, transforming them into cost effective small sliding drawers. By slightly lifting the SR-BOXX it can be completely removed and, thanks to its lid, it can be stacked with other BOXXes and transported to the site of operation. Moreover the lid protects the contents of the SR-BOXXes in the vehicle and on the building site from dust and dirt.

The new SR slides, which also provide high levels of stability even at their maximum width, offer a space saving replacement for drawers and they can be completely removed. Integrated dividers and Insetboxes provide a multitude of possibilities for the organisation of SR-BOXXes and SR-Slides.

As is already familiar from Sortimo van racking solutions, the SR5 shelf system provides integrated drawers, XL-drawers resp. double floor solutions and long component trays and thereby sufficient stowage space for long bulky pipes and other materials or large goods like machines, tools or spare parts. The proven ProSafe load securing system is available in the traverses of the vehicle, whereby large goods can also be directly secured to the van racking solution.

SR5 thereby enables perfect organisation of a workplace in the tightest of spaces, as each single componentof this intelligent shelving system is conceived so that the loading space can be utilised to the maximum.

Complete loading space concept

Together with the innovative SoboPro floor and SoboPro restraint poles, the user of the SR5 experiences a complete loading space concept, which thanks to the integrated ProSafe load securing system provides diverse possibilities for simple, quick and flexible securing of goods to be transported. Because the floor with its embedded ProSafe lashing points enables a quick assembly of the SR5 and on top of that a quick and simple possibility to lash the transport goods to the floor and even the possibility to lock the restraint poles in position.

Highest levels of productivity through 5S

During the development of SR5, Sortimo always put the customer's workflow at the forefront and core of the development by including the most modern methods of workplace organisation. The SR5 van racking solution guarantees the highest levels of productivity and an optimisation of work processes through the integration of the 5S method, which originated in Japan. SR5 fulfils all the necessary preconditions involved as the new van racking system from Sortimo provides special configuration possibilities tuned to the work processes, maximum organisation through division, labelling possibilities through mySortimo labels and mySortimo inlays for tools as well as a consistent systemisation with Sortimo BOXXes, cases and shelves. Craftsmen and service technicians thereby benefit from quick labelling of the entire SR5 shelf system through labelling stickers and a significant simplification of their day-to-day work through the easy workplace organisation in their mobile workshop.

Online configuration

With the SR5 van racking solution, Sortimo International GmbH provides its customers with a new dimension, not only in implementation but also in the purchase of van racking solutions, because the SR5 with all the benefits of the mySortimo platform, can be configured online with all individual and branch specific requirements in just a few steps via mySortimo configuration, then directly ordered and completed with mySortimo labels or a vehicle decal from mySortimo graphics. Sortimo is initiating the SR5 configurator in a pilot project with reduced product scope. The complete SR5 modular system will be available from January 2019.

mySortimo configuration provides users with the benefit of being able to configure a van racking solution themselves at any time and complying with their own requirements. Customers benefit thereby from interactive and comprehensive explanations during the configuration as well as from price transparency about the cost status including installation. The mySortimo platform furthermore allows the storage of data as well as permanent access to said data in order that configuration can be continued at a later stage or can be reordered or adapted. The created SR5 configuration can be ordered directly from Sortimo online and installed in a Sortimo branch or Sortimo Station.
